We had such a fun family trip in Rapid City! Flew in, drove to Mt. Rushmore! Drove to our Hotel and met the Brian's (Steve's sister's family.) We all went straight to the water park from 4:30-9pm. Stayed up talking till late! Woke up at 7am to get some breakfast and then to the waterpark again for a couple of hours before we needed to fly home on my birthday (so we thought.)
Went to the airport, because of some other cancelled flights, we didn't get any seats on the flight we wanted. (Such is the stand-by flying life.) :-) So we waited a few more hours to see if we could fly to Minneapolis then home. Didn't get on that flight either, so we booked another night in a hotel. And this amazingly generous DELTA CAPTAIN let us borrow his Ford truck! Finally, we were able to fly home Sun. morning. However, our flight was delayed due to weather in SLC. The kids were so wonderful! A side note, our phones didn't get any service in this city! Felt so disconnected!
So, thanks for all of your B-day calls! I got them a day late! :-)

Even with the delays it still sounds like a super fun Birthday weekend! The pictures look so cute. I looks like you crammed a week worth of fun into just a couple of days! Glad you had fun and made it home safe!

Happy belated Birthday! I'm so glad you were able to have a fun weekend despite the troubles of coming home. That pilot was so very nice to lend you his truck! Wow!
