There are angels among us!

Nate has played soccer every thurs. for the last little while. His coach is in the black t-shirt, and the coach's son is in the wheel chair. Coach and his wife are angels on earth! Each Star player (kiddo with special needs) is paired up with a Peer Buddy (youth from Coaches ward congregation.) And they play ball. It is not specifically soccer, but something like it. It is awesome to see the smiles of the star players. As well as the peer buddies as they love and serve these AMAZING angels in our lives! Even though it has been hard to go, it has been worth it! I thought Nate would love it, but he just likes it.
He loves to run, and loves to be chased. And he LOVES to kick the soccer ball at home, but just doesn't get into it. He NEEDS A LOT OF REDIRECTING!

Sweet little angles! This sounds like a great program Jen. It also sounds just like normal soccer to me. My kids needed a lot of redirecting as well :) There was a lot of wandering off and getting bored during the games!

Congrats to Steve on his new calling! He must already have it down if he's getting called to it a second time.

That's a good idea! I've been trying to come up with something like that for my busy Sarah. Hmmm. You know, we're in the Spring Trails ward now and there's about 10 different special needs kids--maybe we could do somethin' similar.

Steve was wonderful in the Bishopric here--miss you guys! Those lucky people he's serving!

This is so darn sweet. I love it.
My kids didn't really like soccer. There was a lot of redirecting and just standing around.

Hey I need more of your ideas! We are coming to Nana's bday party so you'll have to share with me!
